At the 12th MAKS international air show (MAKS 2015), the S.P. Korolev Rocket and Space Corporation Energia displayed several exhibits at once. They pertained to the programme on developing the Russian new-generation manned transport spacecraft known as PTK NP and designed to replace the Soyuz TMA spacecraft. PTK NP is designed for not only usual low-Earth orbit flights but also a manned lunar expedition. The spacecraft differs from its predecessors in its lower dependence on ground control and much better 'brains'. PTK NP can fly in the self-contained operation mode for 30 days and as part of an orbital station up to a year. Its standard crew is four. Total weight en route to an orbital station will equal 14.4 t and that en route to the Moon 19 t, with the weight of the re-entry vehicle to stand at 9 t. PTK NP will be lofted into outer space by Russia's cutting-edge Angara family launch vehicle.

27 August 2015, the third day of the MAKS 2015 air show, saw the stand of the United Engine Corporation (UEC) hosting a ceremony of issuing the type certificate for the TV7-117V turboshaft engine designed to power the advanced Mil Mi-38 super-medium transport helicopter. Type Certificate ST355-AD dated 29 July 2015 was presented to UEC Director General Alexander Artyukhov by IAC Aircraft Registry Chairman Vladimir Bespalov.

The participants in the flying programme of the MAKS 2015 air show in late August included the advanced MiG-29M2 (serial 747) two-seat multirole fighter of a commonised family of heavily upgraded MiG-29 versions, including the MiG-29K/KUB carrierborne fighters, land-based MiG-29M/M2 fighters and their further derivative MiG-35. The single-seat MiG-29M (serial 741) fitted with several cutting-edge guided weapons could be seen at the static display area at the show.

The export of the Mil Mi-28NE Night Hunter attack helicopter began just a little over a year ago, in late August 2014. The Iraqi media reported at the time that the first batch of the helicopters of the type had been shipped. The deliveries are in line with a major package of contracts made by Rosoboronexport and Iraq in 2012, under which the first batch of Mil Mi-35M attack helicopters had arrived in country in autumn 2013. According to the annual report by Rostvetol, a subsidiary of Russian Helicopters, the manufacturer continues to execute the Rosoboronexport-snagged orders for 28 Mi-35M and 15 Mi-28NE attack helicopters.

The new production-standard Ilyushin Il-76MD-90A airlifter made by Aviastar-SP plant was named after Victor Livanov in a ceremony in Ulyanovsk on 15 August 2015. The aircraft with c/n 0105 conducted its maiden flight in Ulyanovsk on 14 August 2015. Victor Livanov (1943-2014) had been Ilyushin's Director and Director General from 1988 to 2014 and Designer General since 2006. It is at his initiative that the heavily upgraded Il-76MD-90A was developed and productionised at Aviastar-SP.
